Neto excited to work with Ter Stegen
New Barcelona goalkeeper Neto says he cannot wait to learn from current number one Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The 30-year-old decided to leave Valencia earlier this summer, with Jasper Cillessen moving in the other direction.
Neto will be the back-up keeper at the Nou Camp but he is confident he can learn from his new team-mate and challenge for a starting jersey.
He told Barcelona’s official website: ‘It’s a style where you have to participate much more.
The goalkeeper is always watched with a magnifying glass, but I am very prepared.
‘Being able to play with Ter Stegen will make me much better.
Playing against Barça is always unpredictable and doing so next to Messi will be a lot easier.
‘I feel very proud to have this opportunity.
I think I’m in my best time as a person and as a professional.
I have always dreamed of playing at a club like Barça.
‘Opportunities come when we least expect it, but when we are most prepared.
‘ The former Fiorentina and Juventus stopper is hoping to make his debut in the next few weeks.
Barcelona are set to play friendlies in Japan and the United States before starting the Spanish season against Athletic Bilbao.
