Dortmund stay ‘good’ for defender – Zidane
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists defender Achraf Hakimi won’t be recalled from his two-year loan spell with Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old agreed a two-year loan deal with Dortmund last summer with first-team chances at the Bernabeu set to be limited.
His move to the German outfit has so far been successful, making 28 appearances across all competitions in 2018-19, as Dortmund finished second in the Bundesliga.
After some stunning performances, reports suggested Real could recall Hakimi to bolster their options this summer.
However, Zidane has rubbished those claims and insists he will spend another year with Dortmund to continue his development.
Zidane said: ‘Achraf will spend another year in Dortmund.
‘He’s a good player – we all know that – but it’s good for him to stay there and get another year of match practice behind him.’
