Schulz pleased with quick Dortmund start
Nico Schulz says he is delighted with how quickly he has settled into life at Borussia Dortmund.
Germany international Schulz enjoyed two impressive seasons at Hoffenheim from 2017-2019 before making the switch to Dortmund this summer on a five-year contract for a reported £20-25million.
The 26-year-old left-back, who can also play in midfield, has featured in two of BVB’s three pre-season friendly victories, with a 30-minute cameo against Seattle followed by a full half in the win over Liverpool.
Defender Schulz, who is one of six new summer arrivals at the Westfalenstadion, says he is very happy with the move and has been impressed with the pre-season form.
‘It’s a massive club as you could seen by the support we had on tour, and I’m delighted to be here,’ he told WAZ.
‘I’ve been well integrated on and off the pitch, so I can have no complaints.
‘The training has been intense and it’s not easy playing two games in three days, but we’re looking good.
It’s only been 10 days together, though, so it’s too difficult and too early to say how strong we really are.’
