Elhamed will thrive at Celtic – Kayal
Beram Kayal believes Hatem Abd Elhamed will become a great signing for Celtic when his move is completed.
Scottish champions Celtic are expected to confirm the £1.
6million signing of Elhamed from Hapoel Beer Sheva this week, with a four-year deal on the table, as long as a work permit is granted.
The 28-year-old defender is set for his first spell in the British Isles, having spent his career in Israel, Belgium and Romania, and former Bhoys midfielder Kayal has revealed his fellow Israeli asked him for advice on the potential move.
Having spent five years at Parkhead, the Brighton ace knows all about life north of the border and he urged Elhamed to join the SPL giants.
Speaking in Record Sport, Kayal said: ‘This is a big opportunity for Hatem.
I’m so happy for him to get the chance to join a big club like Celtic.
Obviously, he asked me for advice because I would class him as a friend.
‘What did I say to him? I told him that it will probably be the best day of his life when he signs for Celtic.
He’s a really good player and, most importantly, he’s ready to be a Celtic player.
‘When you are joining such a big club as Celtic then you need experience and he has that now, including making his debut for the international team.’
