Trezeguet quick to thank Villa team-mate
New Aston Villa signing Mahmoud Hassan has thanked Egypt team-mate Ahmed Elmohamady for helping him join the club.
The 24-year-old was unveiled as an Aston Villa player on Wednesday morning after agreeing to leave Turkish Super Lig club Kasimpasa.
Hassan, also known as Trezeguet, becomes Villa’s ninth signing of the summer after impressing in Turkey in recent years.
He scored 25 goals and grabbed 18 assists during 71 appearances in the Super Lig and he has revealed that Elmohamady was key in him moving to Villa Park.
‘Ahmed is a good friend of mine.
He’s like my brother, who I’ve played in the national team with for five years,’ Trezeguet told the club website.
‘He’s my captain and always speaks with me about Aston Villa, saying it’s an amazing club and that I’d be happy here.
‘I asked him a lot of questions.
He will help me and believes I will help the team.
It will help having him here with me and I look forward to working with him again.’
