Balotelli makes emotional Italy return

Nice are ready to mutually agree to terminate Mario Balotelli’s contract this month so the striker can move elsewhere, reports say.

Mario Balotelli admits his return to Italy with Brescia made his mother cry.

The 29-year-old has penned a deal with Le Rondinelle after his contract with Marseille expired and will play in Serie A for the first time since an unsuccessful loan spell at AC Milan in 2015-2016.

The Italy international has tried his luck with many clubs, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Nice but has failed to replicate the form he showed in the early part of his career.

Balotelli will be hoping he can make the Brescia fans happy but confessed that his mother is already over the moon.

“My mum cried initially when I told her that I might be going to Brescia, she was very happy,” he said.

Balotelli’s time at Milan was a miserable one as he struggled with injury and scored only once but he appears in no mood to dwell on the past.

“I have zero fear of failing – I’m fine, very calm,” he added.
