Everton v Sheffield United Team News

Barcelona are holding out for top money before they allow Portugal midfielder Andre Gomes to leave the club this summer.

Everton boss Marco Silva will be hoping for home comforts when his side return to Goodison Park on Saturday to face newly-promoted Sheffield United.

The Toffees have won their last six outings at Goodison Park and will be looking to bounce back after last week’s defeat to Bournemouth.

Andre Gomes missed that clash due to a rib injury and will remain sidelined, while Richarlison was forced off with a hamstring problem and is a doubt for the game but will undergo a late fitness test before the match.

Theo Walcott could come in on the right if the Brazilian fails his late assessment and Tom Davies will hope to come into contention in midfield following the disappointing result and performance last weekend against the Cherries.

The Blades have picked up points in both their away matches in the Premier League with late goals giving them a share of the spoils at both Bournemouth and Chelsea so they will be aiming for a positive result from this clash.

John Fleck, Callum Robinson and David McGoldrick missed the defeat to Southampton last week and will be hoping to feature this time out.

Blades strike ace Billy Sharp will miss out after being sent off in the late stages of last week’s game, while summer signings Luke Freeman and Ravel Morrison will hope for a chance to feature in midfield and it will be an emotional return to Goodison for Phil Jagielka.

The veteran defender is looking forward to his return and he is certain to get a positive welcome from fans that he has nothing but praise for.

“The fans were fantastic with me and I would like to think they could see I gave my all for the Club from day one,” he said. “For me to retain my place in the team for so long at a club with a fantastic history makes me so proud.

“I never, ever took it for granted and it’s something I am immensely proud of.”
