Chris Hussey extends Cheltenham stay
Cheltenham wing-back Chris Hussey has become the latest player to extend his contract with the club.
The 30-year-old, who would have been out of contract next summer, has signed a new deal to keep him at Whaddon Road until the summer of 2021.
He joins Robins captain Ben Tozer, Sean Long and George Lloyd in committing his future to Cheltenham.
‘In my opinion he is the best left-back in the league,’ Town boss Michael Duff told the club website.
‘We know what he gives us.
He’s a good defender but he helps us with his quality and delivery going forward.
‘All you have to do is look at his number of assists already from dead balls and open play.
‘He has a positive influence in the dressing room and is a good professional.
He’s an excellent trainer and trains every day like it’s his last.
He works on his deficiencies and does plenty of extras.
‘ Since joining Cheltenham in May 2018, Hussey has made 47 League Two appearances for the club and featured in six cup matches.
