Dembele namesake shines for Cottagers

Youngster Moussa Dembele staked his claim to replace namesake Mousa Dembele in the Fulham first-team squad with his youth team goals.

Cottagers boss Martin Jol has bemoaned the loss of 25-year-old Belgium international midfielder, Mousa Dembele, to Tottenham last summer, with his side struggling to make up the goals and creativity that he brought to the side.

However, a solution can be found in the Londoners’ youth team in the shape of French forward Moussa Dembele, who linked up with Fulham from Paris Saint-Germain just as his namesake was departing for White Hart Lane.

The younger Dembele has edged closer to being handed a chance with the Fulham first-team squad following a hat-trick for the Under-18s in a 3-1 win against Reading earlier this week.

It is the third hat-trick Dembele has scored this season and he has earned rave reviews from the Academy management which could make it a matter of time before he is handed a Premier League bow.
