City landed the Premier League title on the final day of the campaign last season as they overhauled United to take the top prize.
However, Frenchman Evra insists United are the bigger club and has brushed aside any rivalry between the two Manchester sides as he feels United have always been “superior” to City.
“I don’t know if we could talk about rivalry between both Manchester clubs, because we have always been superior to Manchester City,” Evra told French Media.
“And even if they won the national title last season, that won’t change anything.”
United currently hold a two-point lead over the reigning champions in the Premier League, with the two sides set to meet at City’s Etihad Stadium in December.
