Shelvey heads out

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has allowed young midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to leave the club for a loan spell at Blackpool.

Dalglish said in the week that he was hoping to send him out on loan so he could get some regular first-team football under his belt.

Shelvey became Charlton’s youngest ever first-team player in 2008, at the age of 16, and he scored seven goals in 42 appearances for the Addicks before making a £2.4m move to Liverpool in April last year.

He has made 15 appearances for the Reds but has found his path to the first team blocked this season and has now gone to Blackpool until January.
