The 22-year-old was signed by former Canaries chief Paul Lambert from Peterborough United as one for the future and that has been reflected by the fact he has made only one start in seven Premier League outings under Chris Hughton so far this season.
However, Pearce has called Bennett up to his squad for the Euro 2013 qualifier first leg clash with Serbia at Carrow Road on Friday and he feels the youngster is starting to blossom into a quality stopper with Norwich.
"He was outstanding at Peterborough. He has got a move now, he's playing in the Premier League and he is competing for a place," said Pearce.
"He has been around our squad for a couple of matches, then he started the last game and he did extremely well, and he is one who is improving greatly.
"The more experience he gets both at club level in the Premier League and at U-21 level, the better it is for him as a player."
