Elliott Ward is set to return to Norwich's squad for the trip to Swansea on Saturday but fellow defender Daniel Ayala is ruled out.

Norwich: Canaries set for stopper boost

Ward, who has not played for the Canaries in the Premier League having suffered a serious knee injury during pre-season, has progressed well in recent weeks and could be involved at some point at the Liberty Stadium.

His return is a timely boost for boss Paul Lambert after central defender, Ayala, was ruled out for a number of weeks with a hamstring injury, while Zak Whitbread is also a doubt due to a similar problem he suffered during last weekend's 2-0 win against Bolton at Carrow Road.
Left-back Marc Tierney continues to miss out having suffered a reaction to his recent groin injury, while the game will come too soon for striker James Vaughan who continues his comeback from a long-term knee problem.
The Canaries defeated the Swans 3-1 at home earlier in the season and will look for the three points in South Wales to cement their position in the top half of the Premier League table.
