No go for Sibierski

Wigan boss Steve Bruce is expecting French striker Antoine Sibierski to return to the JJB after his loan deal expires at Norwich.

Reports had suggested the former Newcastle man had agreed to sign permanently on a free transfer after his loan lapses on January 17.

But Latics manager Bruce claims that he has received no offers from his counterpart at Carrow Road, Glenn Roeder, and expects him to return to Wigan at the end of his loan deal.

"Sibi is due to come back on January 17 and I've no problem about that happening," Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post.

"The loan has served its purpose as Sibi has got some games under his belt and would be available for our squad.

"At the moment there hasn't been an approach from Norwich to take him for longer, so I assume he will come back to us."

The experienced striker has scored 2 goals in 15 appearences so far this season in the Championship.
