Pompey down to bare bones

Ricardo Rocha and David Connolly are injury doubts ahead of struggling Portsmouth's trip to Scunthorpe.

Defender Rocha came off during the first half of the 3-2 defeat by Colchester on Saturday with an ankle knock and striker Connolly had to be withdrawn at the interval after tweaking his hamstring.

Caretaker boss Guy Whittingham will see his threadbare squad reduced to just 15 senior players if the experienced duo are ruled out.

Gabor Gyepes is poised to return at centre-half while Liam Walker could replace Connolly in the starting line-up after coming on for the Irishman at the weekend.

Pompey have lost their last seven npower League One matches and are now just two points ahead of bottom club Hartlepool.
