Ceballos loving life at Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos says he made the right decision in leaving Real Madrid for North London in the summer.

The Spaniard fell down the pecking order at Los Blancos and was allowed to leave the club – albeit only on loan.

Ceballos has been impressive in his appearances for the Gunners so far this term despite not always being given the nod by manager Unai Emery.

So far, the 23-year-old has played ten times for his new club, scoring once in their 4-0 victory against Standard Liege in the Europa League on Thursday.

The former Real Betis-man has been sacrificed in some games with the 1-1 draw against Manchester United an example where Emery decided to go with a three-man midfield instead.

However, the matches he has played have done enough to earn him a recall to the senior Spain set up for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Norway and Sweden.

And, the seven times capped midfielder says he definitely made the right decision by leaving Madrid for pastures new.

“I know what I have in my head and that was to play and enjoy playing. I am very happy in Arsenal, I played 10 games where I showed my best level. Now I am where I want to be,” he said.

“My idea was clear from the outset; play and enjoy football because in the previous two years I had not and I have been successful going out to Arsenal.”

Before joining Arsenal, Ceballos was linked with a move to fierce rivals Tottenham, which he turned down in favour of joining the Gunners – quickly placing himself in high regard of the fans.

His performance in the 2-1 win against Burnley was a particular highlight on what was his first start as he assisted both goals and picked up the man-of-the-match award.

After the conclusion of the international break, Ceballos will hope to wrestle his way back into the starting XI for their game away at Sheffield United.
