Nelson facing three weeks out for Gunners
Arsenal forward Reiss Nelson is facing around three weeks on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury.
The 19-year-old was not in the squad for Sunday’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth and withdrew from the England Under-21 party for their matches against Slovenia and Austria on Friday and Tuesday.
It’s now emerged he has suffered a knee injury that looks like keeping him on the sidelines for the rest of October at least.

Nelson will be monitored by the Arsenal staff and undergo treatment if needed over the international break and, while the injury is not deemed to be too serious, he is expected to be out for three weeks and is likely to be unavailable for the Gunners’ upcoming games when the Premier League and Europa League action resumes.
Nelson looks set to sit out the league clash against Sheffield United on October 21, the home Euro group game that follows against Vitoria Guimaraes on October 24 and the London derby at home with Crystal Palace three days later, while the EFL Cup tie at Liverpool on October 30 is also likely to come too soon.
The home game against Wolves on November 2 could be a realistic comeback target for the youngster, who has forced his way into the first-team set-up at the Emirates with some eye-catching displays so far this season, keeping more established players like Mesut Ozil out of the team at times.
The teenager was on loan at Hoffenheim last season and impressed in Germany too when scoring seven goals in 29 appearances and he’s managed one goal for Unai Emery’s side so far this term – against Nottingham Forest in the 5-0 League Cup win – among his six appearances in all competitions.
Nelson, who has four goals from his eight England Under-21 caps, has made 22 senior appearances for Arsenal and had begun to become a key part of Emery’s plans before the injury struck.
