Szczesny has not featured for the Gunners since their Champions League exit to Barcelona on March 8th, while Djourou dislocated his shoulder four days later against Manchester United.
However, the duo are well ahead of schedule with their recovery and are back in full training to give manager Arsene Wenger a timely boost going into the visit from the Reds.
Wenger had been convinced he wouldn’t see the defender on the pitch again this season as a result of his shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, fellow centre-back Thomas Vermaelen is also making good progress with the Achilles injury that his plagued him all season.
The Belgian picked up the injury on international duty last September, but is now also training free of pain although it’s unclear if he will be fit enough to take part in a competitive game before the end of the season.
