Wilshere, who watched from the stands as the Gunners eventually overcame Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, will not be rushed back by the club but his fitness is being closely monitored.
If it is felt he is ready to return sooner than expected, then he is likely to be brought back by Arsene Wenger – especially considering the Gunners’ poor start to the season.
