Reports claim that Walcott has been told by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger that he is free to move on in January if a suitable offer were to come in and the 28-year-old may well decide to call it a day on his long stay at the Emirates.
Walcott still harbours hopes of making it into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup finals in Russia next summer but he will surely miss out if he isn’t playing regular first-team football.
He has only featured in cup competitions for the Gunners this season so far and a move away appears likely.
Everton are not alone in being interested as both West Ham and former club Southampton are also keen to land the forward, who signed for Arsenal for £12m from Saints when he was 16.
Ipswich striker Joe Garner will not play again this season after it emerged he suffered a fractured skull against Sheffield United last week.
