Aston Villa v Newcastle Team News
Aston Villa are set to welcome back Jack Grealish from injury when they host Newcastle United on Monday evening.
The skipper has been out of action for four weeks after suffering a calf injury and being forced off in the final few minutes of the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City.
He has subsequently missed their last two games – the 2-1 loss at home to Liverpool and the 2-1 away defeat at Wolves this month.
It is their poorest run of form this season and their worst since they lost five in a row back in February 2017 in the Championship.
Villa will be hoping Grealish can add some extra stardust to the team and add to his tally of four goals 12 appearances across all competitions this season.
Villa have also been dealt some more positive injury news ahead of the clash against Steve Bruce’s side.
Tom Heaton is set to return from a calf injury of his own to end Villa’s goalkeeper crisis, having had to rely on third-choice Orjan Nyland against Wolves.
Bjorn Engels and Matt Targett are also likely to feature after they overcome hip and concussion problems respectively.

While Villa have entered a sticky patch and lie 17th in the table, there has been something of a Newcastle renaissance under Bruce.
Despite criticism from some fans over his appointment, the former Villa boss has steadied the ship and now they are 14th in the table and know a win could lift them to ninth in the table.
However, while Villa have players coming back, the Magpies have problems in defence.
Jamaal Lascelles has been ruled out until the new year with a fractured tibia, while they are hoping Ciaran Clark will be fit after reporting back from Republic of Ireland duty with a knock.
Florian Lejeune and Fabian Schar are back in training after injury and could be fast-tracked into the side to provide the defensive solidity.
Sean Longstaff completes his three-game ban after being sent off against Wolves, while Matt Ritchie remains a long-term absentee for the Magpies.
