Villa belief not dented by Foxes mauling – Grealish

Jack Grealish says self-belief at Aston Villa has not taken a hit after the loss to Leicester ahead of a crucial run of matches.

The Villans proved to be no match for the in-form Foxes on Sunday as the visitors recorded a comfortable 4-1 victory at Villa Park.

The loss was the fifth in seven league matches for Dean Smith’s side and leaves them in 17th place, with only goal difference saving them from slipping into the relegation zone.

Villa have had a tough run of matches of late, with five of their last six games against sides in the top six of the Premier League.

They will hope to start to turn the corner when they travel to fellow promoted side Sheffield United on Saturday.

They then face the current bottom three in succession over the busy festive period, with games against Southampton, Norwich and Watford to come before the end of 2019.

After such a difficult run of results, questions have been asked as to whether Villa can do enough to avoid relegation this season.

Grealish has now responded to those doubts by insisting the whole squad still believe in the cause and that recent results haven’t been too damaging to morale.

Grealish told the Express & Star: “We have a lot of important games coming up. We have so much belief in each other in the changing room.

“We will dust ourselves down this week and get ready for the game against Sheffield United.

“Then we have a big load of games coming up over the Christmas period against teams all around us. We will be looking forward to that.”

Punters wanting to use their free bet might like to back Aston Villa to get back to winning ways this weekend when they travel to South Yorkshire to face Sheffield United, winning on two of their last three visits to Bramall Lane.
