Cherries midfielder eyes Boro return

Bournemouth will make a late call on midfielder Dan Gosling ahead of Saturday's Premier League visit of Middlesbrough.

Gosling has not played for the Cherries since the game against Southampton on April 1, missing the last three games with a calf complaint.

He has been working hard to get back to full fitness and boss Eddie Howe insists he has a chance of featuring against Boro this weekend.

He said: “We’ll make a late call on him but we’ve been saying that for the last few weeks now. We can’t make any guarantees, as he hasn’t done a lot of training.

On-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is out for the season after suffering a fractured leg during last week’s defeat at Tottenham so Lewis Cook could be drafted into the side after coming off the bench at White Hart Lane.

Midfielder Andrew Surman continues his recovery from a knee problem while forward Callum Wilson, goalkeeper Adam Federici and defender Rhoys Wiggins all continue their recoveries from knee injuries.

Provisional Squad: Boruc, A Smith, S Cook, Daniels, Francis, Pugh, L Cook, Arter, Stanislas, King, Afobe, Allsop, Gradel, Mings, Cargill, Fraser, Mousset, Gosling.
