The 23-year-old has endured a frustrating start to the season after struggling with injuries and poor form.
Howe decided to give him a chance last weekend and he repaid him with a goal in the 1-1 draw against Southampton.
Fraser’s strike was his first since he scored three goals last season and Howe believes the youngster should be doing more when he is given an opportunity.
Howe signed Fraser from Aberdeen five years ago but the former Burnley coach has demanded more ahead of a busy period.
He told the Bournemouth Echo: “I am one of Ryan’s biggest fans, I really am. I think he is a player of huge ability.
“For whatever reason, he has had a slightly stuttering start to the season and we haven’t quite seen him at his fluent best.
“His performance against Southampton was a sign of him really returning to that form and, if he can, he is going to be a huge player for us.”
He added: “I can’t speak highly enough of his ability as a player – I just hope he shows it on a consistent basis.”
Stoke could face a battle to keep Xherdan Shaqiri as reports have claimed Mark Hughes wants him at Southampton next season.
Bayern Munich have entered the race to Emre Can, who continues to talk up a move away from Liverpool this summer.
