Hughton praises summer buy Andone
Chris Hughton says summer buy Florin Andone will give Brighton ‘different options for different games’ as he closes in on full fitness.
The Romanian striker joined Brighton during the summer transfer window from Deportivo La Coruna in a reported 6million euros deal.
Andone, 25, is still awaiting his Seagulls debut as he has been absent with a groin injury but will step up his recovery by appearing for the Under-23s against West Ham at the Amex on Friday.
Glenn Murray has enjoyed a strong start to the season with three goals and Hughton also has Jurgen Locadia as an option in attack, but the Brighton boss feels Andone will give his frontline a different dimension when he is available for first-team action.
‘Firstly he’ll give us that level of competition, exactly the same as Glenn and Locadia, whether they are starting or coming off the bench,’ he told The Argus.
‘What we have is probably three different type players. He has a physicality about him but he is also somebody used to running in behind.
‘So he will be able to stretch teams and give us that outlet, whether it is starting or on the bench, and give us different options for different games.’
