Seagulls enter Worrall race

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton are believed to have joined the race to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall in the January window.

Despite Forest’s struggles in the Championship this season which cost manager Mark Warburton his job at the City Ground, Worrall has continued to impress and has attracted the interest of clubs in the Premier League.

The Seagulls, who are looking to bolster their defensive options this month, are thought to have entered the race to sign the highly-rated 20-year-old, who shone in Forest’s 4-2 FA Cup win against Arsenal at the weekend.

Brighton will face competition for the £10m-rated defender, with Burnley also credited with an interest in the England Under-21 international.
