Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave in January if he continues to be overlooked.

The central defender has been a key figure at Stamford Bridge since joining from Bolton in a £7million deal in 2012.

However, he has fallen down the pecking order following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri this summer.

The Italian has deployed David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger in the heart of defence and Cahill, who has not even made the bench so far this season, is understood to be frustrated by a lack of action.

Reports state he has told the club that he will be looking to move on in January if his situation doesn’t change.
