Hazard was star of the show as he bagged a brace in the 3-1 win over Newcastle at the weekend, but Conte believes his best years are still ahead of him.
Conte hopes those years will be at Chelsea, as reports continue to link both him and Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid. However the Blues are hoping to tie them to new deals and Conte wants them signed up sooner rather than later, preferably well before the World Cup in the summer.
“I will be very happy when they sign their deals. They are great players who have a lot of space for improvement and it will be great to keep them,” he told reporters.
“But I don’t think that Eden is at the peak of his career yet. I think he has a lot of improvement [to make]. It’s important for him to work, work, work in every training session to improve himself and then to have this kind of performance.
“You are only at the top when you win the Ballon d’Or the first time.”
