Torres happy after AVB exit

Fernando Torres will decide on his future in the next few months but his agents claim he is now happy at Chelsea.

The Spanish striker has struggled for goals since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Liverpool and there had been suggestions he could move to Italy at the end of the season.

However following the departure of Andre Villas-Boas the player is known to be much happier at the club and his representatives say that Roberto Di Matteo is treating him the way he should be treated.

Torres’ future is still in doubt but his agent Antonio Sanz says he is far more likely to stay now Villas-Boas has gone.

“We’ll evaluate his future in the coming months,” Sanz told “Fernando has another four years on his contract at Chelsea and the situation there has changed for him.”

Roma, who have been bought by an American consortium have been strongly linked with a move, while Juventus are keen to take him on loan with a view to a permanent move.

However Sanz has played down the rumours and says any interested party will have to talk to Chelsea first and then they will take it from there.

“We know the new American project at Roma and the philosophy of manager Luis Enrique, but if Roma want Fernando, they will have to talk with Chelsea,” he added.

“The Italian championship is of a good standard, but there are currently no discussions with Roma or Juventus.”
