Ukrainian winger link emerges as Blues rival Portuguese giants

Chelsea are showing interest in Stal Kamianske's left-sided dribbler Orest Kuzyk, who has also been targeted by Benfica and Porto.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo stated on Friday that Chelsea and Porto have joined the race for the Ukraine Under-21 international ahead of the summer transfer window.

Benfica have also been linked to the 22-year-old ex-Dynamo Kiev player.

Kuzyk has scored six goals in 26 games this season – and assisted three more – to prove himself one of the best players in the Ukrainian league.

However, he would struggle to qualify for a UK work permit because he is not yet a full international so Chelsea’s interest may be with a view to loaning him out.

Russian ex-Chelsea scout Leonid Slutsky was recently appointed coach of Vitesse Arnhem and that may be where Kuzyk would be sent if the Blues decided to push on with a transfer.
