Hodgson wants Palace to make most of Old Trafford ‘opportunity’

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is said to be looking to take Everton's forgotten midfielder James McCarthy to Selhurst Park.

Roy Hodgson is well aware his Crystal Palace side will have to be on top form to get a result at Manchester United this weekend.

United have picked up four points from their opening two games, having seen off Chelsea 4-0 at Old Trafford in their season opener before playing out a 1-1 draw at Wolves.

Palace have one point on the board so far and are yet to score, but Hodgson believes they can get something from their Premier League trip to Manchester.

“I think like all clubs, when you go to Old Trafford it’s an opportunity,” he told the club website. “It’s a great occasion because that’s a place every footballer wants to play. Every footballer in the world would like to play at Old Trafford. In that respect, it’s a great occasion.”

United striker Anthony Martial has two goals in as many games this season and punters may wish to use their free bet to back the Frenchman to continue his scoring run this weekend.

Palace did manage a point at Old Trafford in November last season as they held United to a 0-0 draw but they lost the reverse fixture 3-1 in February.
