Hodgson eyes England midfielder

Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson is reported to be lining up Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere as one of his first signings for Crystal Palace.

Hodgson will have to wait until the January transfer window before making any new additions, but there is nothing stopping him from drawing up his wanted list, and reports are rife that Wilshere is on it.

The Gunners playmaker has been heavily linked with Palace in the past and came close to signing 12 months ago before he opted for a season-long loan deal with Bournemouth instead.

Wilshere is closing in on a return to fitness after fracturing his leg while with the Cherries, and has set his heart on fighting his way back into the Gunners side after turning down several moves on deadline day.

However, if he has been unable to play his way back into the thoughts of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger by January, there is a good chance he could seek another loan move, and the Eagles will be at the front of the queue.
