Everton v Manchester City Team News
Marco Silva has confirmed Andre Gomes will miss Saturday’s visit of Manchester City but is hopeful the midfielder will be back in training next week.
The Portuguese has sat out his side’s last three games with a rib problem and is still to return to full training with his team-mates.
Silva says he hopes Gomes will be back for the team’s visit to Burnley next weekend after confirming he will play no part against the Citizens.

“Andre is still not working fully with his team-mates,” he told reporters. “Let’s hope in the next few days we have some more news about him. He’s doing some first steps now to integrate into the full sessions with the team.”
Jean-Philippe Gbamin remains a long-term absentee due to a thigh problem although the boss has plenty of options after rotating for the midweek 2-0 EFL Cup win at Sheffield Wednesday.
Alex Iwobi and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are both pushing for starts ahead of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Alex Iwobi, while Fabian Delph is expected to start against his former club.
City themselves changed things around as they cruised past Preston 3-0 and Pep Guardiola is likely to revert to something like the side that crushed Watford 8-0 last Saturday.
Kevin De Bruyne, Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Aguero are all likely to return to the XI. Guardiola may also choose to hand a start to youngster Eric Garcia after shining at Deepdale.
The Spanish central defender has been tipped for a new contract and could be the man to fill the void left by the injury to Aymeric Laporte.
City have lost just one of their last 12 meetings with Everton, a 4-0 defeat at Goodison Park in January 2017.
The Toffees do, though, have an enviable home record against the reigning Premier League champions, winning 10 games, with Liverpool’s tally of 13 the only one superior.
However, Silva has lost all seven matches as a coach against Guardiola at an aggregate score of 24-3.
