Stoke deal for Everton target

Stoke City look to have won the race for Manchester United forward Michael Owen, beating Everton to the striker.

The former England and Liverpool star looks a certainty to leave Old Trafford this summer after they released him following three injury plagued years with the Red Devils.

Despite those injury problems there are no shortage of takers for the front man and there was a thought that David Moyes at Everton was interested in landing him but, apparently due to his previous spell at Anfield, Owen preferes Stoke.

Whether that is the case or not it looks like Stoke have won the race for his signature after their boss Tony Pulis had previously spoken of his admiration for the player.
