Leipzig test perfect for Town – Lowe
Defender Chris Lowe knows Huddersfield are in for a tough test against RB Leipzig on Friday but feels it is perfect preparation.
The Terriers are looking to fine-tune their preparations for the big kick-off against Chelsea on August 11 and will face the Bundesliga side at Stadion Schwaz in Austria.
They will square off against a club that Lowe knows well, with Town’s left-back having played against them when he was with Chemnitzer in the fourth tier of German football.
Both he and Die Roten Bullen have come on leaps and bounds since then and Leipzig finished runners-up to Bayern Munich in the 2016-17 season before ending up sixth last term.
Lowe is impressed with Ralf Rangnick’s side and believes the match will be a good marker as to where Huddersfield are at the moment.
‘It’s unbelievable what they have achieved,’ he told HTTV. ‘Of course they have a good sponsor, they have a lot of money, but in the end you have to spend that money right and that’s what they have done over the last years.
‘They deserve to be where they are. They struggled a bit last season, but still finished sixth after second the year before.
‘It is a really, really good side. They have a good manager, they have a good team around the team so it will be a tough test for us.’
