Stankovic edging closer to return

Huddersfield Town defender Jon Stankovic believes he's making progress with his recovery from a knee injury but won't rush a return.

The Slovenia Under-21 international suffered the knee injury back in March but his work behind the scenes is paying off with a first Premier League appearance for the Terriers on the horizon.

Stankovic has been pleased with his progress but is eager to ease his way back playing and will not rush a return to first-team action.

He told HTTV: “I am slowly coming back and going in the right direction. I have been training on the grass and doing some work with the ball and I’m really happy about how things are going.

“I think I’m on target (for my return) at this stage, but I don’t want to go back too soon or too earlier. I want to be confident and strong and that’s what we are looking for.”
