Albrighton backed by Leicester boss

Leicester boss Claude Puel has heaped the praise on Marc Albrighton due to his work ethic and desire to improve.

Albrighton was left out by Puel at the start of the Frenchman’s Foxes tenure but has now re-established himself in the side.

The 28-year-old winger, who has also been used in central midfield by Puel, put in another impressive performance in the 1-0 win over Burnley at the weekend and the Leicester boss has been delighted with Albrighton’s attitude during his time in charge.

Puel told the Leicester Mercury: “It was difficult at the beginning because he was a starting player and the first couple of games were difficult for him but it is never finished with me if a player shows his quality.

“It is important to reward him if he deserves it.

“Sometimes when not playing the player can come back with ambition after disappointment.

“He works a lot. We see that a lot on the pitch.

“I think it is a good thing for him to improve because we need a completed squad with all the players to play these games. It is important to offer different solutions.”
