Youngster set for Foxes first team call

Leicester City

Plans to send young Leicester City star George Thomas out on loan appear to have been shelved after he impressed Claude Puel.

The 20-year-old has shone for the under-23s this season and on Tuesday netted in the Checkatrade Trophy win over Scunthorpe, bringing him to the attention of Puel.

It was widely expected that he would be sent out on loan in the New Year to add to his footballing education but that is now not likely to be the case.

Apparently, Puel is now considering pushing him into the Foxes’ first-team squad with the Foxes, having made more than 50 first-team appearances during his time at Coventry

Thomas joined Leicester in the summer and the youngster, who plays wide right or up front, is set for some senior action at the King Power Stadium.
