RB Salzburg v Liverpool Team News

Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum insists his team are focusing on their next match - not winning the Premier League title.

Liverpool have been boosted by the return of Georginio Wijnaldum ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Salzburg in the Champions League.

The Dutch international was forced to miss out on the Reds’ 3-0 win at Bournemouth over the weekend but the playmaker has recovered from his minor knock and is available for the trip to Austria.

Centre-back Dejan Lovren is also fit to travel after he picked up a knock in that victory at the Vitality Stadium, however, midfielder Adam Lallana’s injury woes continue and he misses out on this final Champions League group game.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has been upbeat about a swift return for Lallana and the German is pleased to have Wijnaldum and Lovren fit for the clash with Salzburg, in a match that a draw will be enough to take the Reds through to the knockout stages.

“Gini and Dejan are completely fine,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. “We had pretty much a free choice apart from Adam. Adam is not coming but will be back in training on Thursday. Under pressure we probably could have used him, but we didn’t want to make pressure. How I said, it’s a small thing.

“It would have been maybe a risk or not [to consider Lallana against Salzburg], I’m not sure, but we decided to leave him at Melwood and then he can train with the team from Thursday on.”

Salzburg have their own injury problems and Antoine Bernede (shin), Patrick Farkas (health problems) and Sekou Koita (muscle injury) all miss out on the crunch European clash.

The Austrian outfit go into this game off the back of an impressive run of form, having not lost in their last nine matches on all competitions.

Salzburg have not lost a single game of their 17 in the Austrian Bundesliga this term and were only edged out 4-3 against Liverpool in their last thrilling meeting at Anfield.
