Henderson – Let’s build on Brighton win

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has urged his side to carry the momentum from the Brighton win into the clash with Spartak Moscow.

The Reds are unbeaten since the end of October, winning six of their last eight outings in all competitions.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are now gearing up for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Spartak as they look to secure their place in the last-16 of the tournament by taking a point.

Saturday’s comfortable 5-1 win over Brighton was a statement of intent from the Merseyside outfit and Henderson has demanded they continue their recent run.

“It’s very pleasing,” Henderson told the club’s official website. “Overall for 90 minutes we played very well, controlled the game with the ball, scored some brilliant goals and defensively I thought we were solid.

“It was a brilliant second goal on the counter-attack. The front three, Salah, Firmino and Coutinho – fantastic goals.

“So overall we’ve got to keep that going as a team. It’s a big game in midweek and we need to keep the momentum going.”
