The Reds are keen to ensure they do not lose any more of their prized assets, having recently bid farewell to Philippe Coutinho, and are eager to open negotiations with Firmino’s camp.
The Brazilian, who recently admitted Liverpool would not be the same without close friend Coutinho, still has two years left to run on his current contract but is set to be offered an improved deal in the hope of persuading him to stay on longer.
Firmino has previously said he would like to remain on Merseyside for “years to come” and Liverpool could facilitate that dream by offering him a deal which could see him hang up his boots when it expires.
