Reds welcome back injured duo

Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge have returned to training to hand Liverpool a double fitness boost before Sunday's Man City's clash.

The Reds are preparing to host runaway Premier League leaders City at Anfield this weekend and boss Jurgen Klopp’s options for the game have improved with both Salah and Sturridge pictured taking a full part in training on Wednesday.

Top-scorer Salah has missed Liverpool’s last two matches with a minor groin injury but he was part of the squad that went to Dubai on a warm-weather training camp last weekend and appears to be fit ahead of the City showdown.

Meanwhile, Sturridge, who did not go to Dubai, has not featured in the Premier League since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea at the end of November due to a muscle injury but he too seems fit and available for the game against Pep Guardiola’s side, even if the best the 28-year-old can probably hope for on Sunday is a place on the bench.

Alberto Moreno and skipper Jordan Henderson are still on the sidelines, though, with ankle and hamstring problems respectively so those two are likely to be forced to sit out Sunday’s game.
