Striker looks to Baggies clash

Despite having to withdraw from the England squad through injury Daniel Sturridge is hoping to be fit to face West Brom on Monday.

Sturridge joined up with England’s squad but was sent home after the medical department looked at his thigh injury but he is hoping treatment this week at Liverpool’s training ground will see him fit enough to take to the field against the Baggies next Monday night.

“I got a knock on my quad and I’m going to get a scan on it.

“Hopefully it’s not too serious and I’ll be okay for next week’s game,” Sturridge told the club’s website.
