Ankle problem still hampering Aguero

Manchester City

Manchester City will continue to monitor Sergio Aguero's ankle issue ahead of Saturday's game against Premier League leaders Chelsea.

The Argentinian striker has been in discomfort ever since last week’s Champions League draw at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The issue didn’t seem to hamper the forward ace who scored a brace in City’s 2-1 weekend victory at Burnley.

Aguero, however, was still in some pain after the final whistle and was ordered to put his feet up.

City have a rare week without a midweek game and Pep Guardiola is confident it will have his man firing on all cylinders for the visit of Antonio Conte’s side to the Etihad Stadium.

The 28-year-old is in prolific form and has hit 33 goals in his last 34 Premier League games for City.

Aguero scored four goals against Chelsea in two victories last season, including a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge.
