Juve to pounce for City ace

Manchester City

Juventus are reportedly pondering a January transfer window raid on Manchester City for back-in-favour midfielder Yaya Toure.

The 33-year-old Ivory Coast star looked set for the City exit door after being frozen out of the first-team picture by Pep Guardiola after comments made by his agent.

City’s boss said he would not let Toure play until an apology was issued and the talented playmaker is now back in the ranks.

He has scored twice in three games since returning to the first team and other clubs are now said to be interested.

One of those sides looking at Toure, according to Calciomercato, is Juve, who are reportedly in the market for a new midfielder and are hoping to sign Zenit St Petersburg’s Axel Witsel on a free next summer as well.

The Turin outfit sit at the top of the Serie A standings and are in line for a sixth straight Scudetto and it is open to debate as to whether they actually need the African at this stage of the campaign.
