Manchester United v Sevilla FC

Manchester United

Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of Paul Pogba for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Sevilla.

The Red Devils were held to a goalless draw in the last-16 first-leg tie in Seville and they will be confident of getting a positive return in the return at Old Trafford.

Pogba was named on the bench for the trip to Spain but Jose Mourinho had to turn to the midfielder just 17 minutes into the clash when Ander Herrera picked up an injury.

The France international missed Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool after sustaining a minor knock and Mourinho confirmed he has returned to training, however, he will need to be assessed prior to kick off.

Compatriot Anthony Martial could also boost United after missing the last two matches, while Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Daley and Herrera will all miss out.

Sevilla have never won a Champions League outing in England, losing three and drawing one, and they will next to improve on that record if they are to go beyond the last-16 of the elite competition for the first time in their history.

Defender Sebastien Corchia is not available but Daniel Carrico could earn a place in the squad if he passes a late fitness test.

Former Manchester City winger Jesus Navas is also unlikely to force his way back into the squad as he continues to work his way back from injury.

United have a strong home record across all competitions this season, winning 15 of their 18 engagements, and they require one more win at the Theatre of Dreams to seal a place in the quarter-finals.
