Saints wait for £14m Adams
Southampton are reportedly refusing to raise their offer for Birmingham City striker Che Adams beyond £14million.
Saints are interested in the Blues frontman and have made at least one offer for the 22-year-old so far this summer, believed to be £14million.
The Championship club are after more, however, and are hoping to spark a bidding war with other clubs and eventually rake in at least £20million.
Southampton are refusing to increase their bid, according to the Daily Echo, and do not value Adams any higher so could even walk away from negotiations should Birmingham dig their heels in.
Adams has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Burnley, Everton and Crystal Palace, since the turn of the year, after his outstanding season in which he scored 22 goals in the second tier in a side that was struggling.
The former Sheffield United frontman is ready to leave St Andrew’s and wants to try his luck in the Premier League but any possible exit has been delayed after Garry Monk’s shock sacking last week.
