The south coast club have endured a tough 2017-18 season and they weren’t mathematically guaranteed safety until the after their final game.
Southampton ended the term three points clear of the drop zone and they will be hoping to come back much stronger in 2018-19.
Tadic, who stepped up in the closing weeks, has praised the club’s fans for getting behind the squad and feels they played an important role in their successful survival battle.
‘We need to tell them thank you. We were all together like a family, the supporters, the players, they made us together and this is most important,’ Tadic said.
‘We recognised that it was so important to have everyone on the same page and also supporters gave us the extra energy.
‘Our supporters have been great, especially the past few weeks. They show how they love our club, and when it’s most important they were there. To be our twelfth player.
‘We’ve fought for everything, our lives. The fans recognised that and finally everyone is happy. This is a big platform, we can build something with this club.’
