Diao’s style stance

Stoke City

Stoke midfielder Salif Diao does not think the Potters need to change their style of play for the Premier League.

Tony Pulis’ men won promotion from the Championship last season and Diao has urged the club to keep its uncompromising game-plan and physical approach.

The Senegal international told The Sentinel: “Every club has its identity and I think that is the identity of Stoke.

“It is important to keep that. Football is not how you play, it is about results. As long as the manager likes the way we play, and the players are enjoying it, that is the most important thing.

“I don’t see any problem with that so long as the results are there.”
