The Senegal international was on the verge of completing a €10million deal before he failed a medical at the Britannia Stadium and the Potters decided to cancel the transfer.
The Potters are believed to be keen on bringing in Ba on loan to see how he holds up to the rigours of the Premier League, although they now face competition from West Ham for his signature.
The 25-year-old says he was surprised his move with Stoke fell through but believes he could still be on his way to the Britannia Stadium as he eyes a move to England.
“Unfortunately they didn’t want to take a risk, it wasn’t that much but they were a little afraid and they just said it wasn’t going to happen,” Ba told Sky Sports News.
“I was really surprised and I thought I would pass the medical easily as I played all the games in the first half of the season, but this is football.
“I know my club Hoffenheim are dealing with clubs in the Premier League and I am just waiting to see now but I know I can play for the rest of my career without much of a problem.”
